Awesome video. I hate the heat but always wanted to go to KW. What would be the best time of year?
Is it worth driving from cocoa beach been living here for a decade am I missing anything?
We fryin up a 8pc tonite
I love KW. Great place.
5:29 donβt park in the right places. Hahaha
Thank you for this informative video! Beautiful photos / video. I've been to key west probably 6 or 7 times? Can't wait to go down this fall again for the first time in a few years
Don't bring your service dog to the green parrot. They will tell you they don't allow pets. Even if your service dog has their vest, and you explain your disabled.
No thanks on the sea food
Another don't of key west: Don't expect fast drink service. This place socks if you are a drinker.
Would you kindly stop saying "oh my God" like a high school girl?? I watched several of your videos and it drives me crazy. I know, everyone who reads this will be ticked at me, but respect other's religion and sensibilities – please cease doing it. Thank you and stay safe.
Yes, take the tour tram. It's informative, you get a nice ride around, it's well worth it.
Def rent a scooter.its best way to get around and super fun.
I just finished with a weekend at keywest and Iβd suggest in regards to the southernmost monument, Iβd suggest go early in the morning if you want a picture with it, me and my fiancΓ© kept trying to take pictures but that line was longgggg So we went back the morning we were set too leave key west, we went at about 8am and their was maybe like 2/3 people there. So if you donβt mind waiting in a long line then itβs fine to go at anytime but if you hate waiting then Iβd definitely suggest going in the morning to get your pictures.
Two hour trip from Miami? That's a joke, right?
You have your ' in the wrong place
Iβm a traveling musician from Michigan and looking for LOW SPEED spots to camp, eat, and serenade. Any suggestions?! Iβm headed from Pensacola in a couple days β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Do you need to get to the airport early?? Or are they pretty fast?
Thank you so much!
But …. isnt the Key West Airport in Marathon Key?
I managed Cheeca lodge in 2006 and took the Harley down to Key West EVERY weekend. I know it like my pockets. I miss the superb Conch fritters. But I admit , as a Californian, the seafood get's way too much deep fried everytime.
You never mention the Fort Zachary Taylor historic state park, in my opinion there is the best beach in Key West
Over-rated tourist trap.
The streets of KW can be CROWDED and the BARS can be CROWDED. So we stayed in Key Colony Beach just EAST of MARATHON (which is a CITY,,,,,NOT A βKEYβ!π) and drove to KW for the day then LEFT THE CROWDS BEHIND. One hour drive including the iconic SEVEN MILE BRIDGE and a wonderful time indeed! BTW the KEYS are actually sunken, crushed CORAL REEFS. As such there are VERY FEW βbeachesβ on the ATLANTIC side. Most beaches are on the MARSHY π Gulf side. Sombrero Beach in Marathon is a notable exception on the Atlantic side. TIP: fly into Ft Lauderdale avoiding Miami congestion. FLL has Direct TURNPIKE access to the Keys!!π
Great video! We just came back from our trip to Key West, it was fantastic! Thank you for the tips!
You want a lot of alone time with the Bowie go at 6:00 in the morning that's what I did didn't take all the pictures you want and nobody's down there
I donβt even understand how my city is very popular probably because of the tourist attractions and the weather
go to the halfshell raw bar i grew up there its good
I lived in Key West for 20 years. from 2000 to 2020. my husband and I are wisconsinites. I would suggest buying some books about Key West history because it is phenomenal. and since not much has changed you can really feel the history. we had to move to Florida mainland because hurricane Insurance became so expensive. also we are both in our seventies now and Healthcare is a bit more difficult in Key West. I will always be madly in love with Key West Florida
You should travel to the Dry Tortugas when in Key West.
Omg
Lived in KW for a year. Live aboard sailboat at KW marina. Overall KW is a shit hole. Over priced. Several other keys are far better and less tourists.
If you really want to take a pic at the Southernmost Point, do it in the evening when cruise ships are gone and they are not a lot people because everybody is on Duval St. drinking. Or you can do it early in the morning before 9:00 am
On my way June 18-20th!! Thanks for the tips!! ππΌππΌπ
The mosquitos
Do not miss San Carlos institute, best cuban museum in the world and free (tips requested),,, located on Duval half a block from Hemingway houseβ¦
Another don't: don't expect fast drink service.
Don't set the Southernest Point bouy on fire.
I've been raised in the West Midlands in England,if any one who has grown up in the Keys area has a minute spare take a look on YouTube at where I live. And then thank God you don't live where I do
If your military, stay on the various lodging options availible for a quarter of cost off base. Camping is great on base at under 10 a night with ocean front campsites. The MWR has some great discounts for attractions. You can park at one of the annexes and walk a mile to Duvall street. Check any merchant to get the cruise ship times and make sure your somewhere where the extra several thousand people arn't. New years eve is awesome π there.
Get a hat with a brim. Baseball caps = sunburned ears.
You should also mention the great butterfly conservancy. It was my favorite attraction after the Hemingway house and cats.
Hogfish bar and grill on stock island is so good. I spent a month or so down there last summer and Hogfish bar was my favorite spot to eat. π¦ π π¦ π£
Why the hell are chickens protected π
Did anyone else see the guy in the Spider-Man suit
Conch Republic
wear a big hat , long sleeve shirts, and gloves
i liked the bogart movie Key Largo
I lived there a few times as a kid when my stepdad was stationed there. It was also my last port call when I was stationed on the USS George Washington CVN73 over 20 years ago. Now, I'm a mom and looking to take my daughter. Thank you for sharing this.
Conch Train (covers only Old Town in one round trip) and Old Town Trolley (Covers the whole island and offers a hop-on/hop-off option all day) are a good way to get a lay of the land when you get here. If you're staying up on North & South Roosevelt, get a trolley ticket and use it for transportation to make the most of the ticket.
Good job, sir. I think I would have emphasized the lack of sandy beaches more. There are a few motels that shipped in sand but for the most part the "beaches" are coral rocks and coral sludge. We retired here 4 years ago at MM10 Big Coppitt and were surprised by the lack of sandy beaches. In fact we boat out to local sand bars and party. Great fun. Β
The cost of living down here is so bad many locals are priced out and have to move to the mainland or live 4 or 5 to a house and share expenses. Getting service help is near impossible. We love our small community here at Seaside.
As a local, I can confirm. If you pronounce the word conch the same way SpongeBob did, we will actually end you.
