We spent days exploring Barcelona, but as everyone who has ever visited quickly discovers, it would take weeks just to scratch the surface. What’s your favourite travel trip for Barcelona?

City is beautiful, hotels are overpriced and definitely don't worth that money. For that money you give there for 2,3 days you can spend somewhere almost week. Beautiful but not worth.

Barcelona has a fake beach that has oil in its water. It was made for the ?1992 olympics, over a factory and rubber manufacturing area. So the water still has black particles after a storm and seems really unhealthy. The people have among the highest addiction levels to heroin and other drugs in europe. For the olympics, in addition to making a fake beach, they bulldozed many drug dens to put up tourist spots so the world wouldnt see how Barcelonans really live. Its not like the addicts flew away or were put in treatment programs. They were just forced a few blocks away. Orwell square or plaza is such an area. Some areas have lots of tourist owners and you will find racist signs and postings there as a result, as locals are priced out of these buildings. Last, this population treated Gaudi, their famous architect, like garbage. The Barcelonans let his works fall into ruin. That is until other europeans began to highly value him. Now the locals celebrate Guadi because outsiders say he is great, whereas they had no interest or inherent ability to recognize his greatness for decades. Gaudi's cathedral has been under construction for literally over one hundred years, still unfinished. It is comical to think the city can not even finish its greatest building, though its very beautiful. Compare that to the US (WTC, ESB, monticello), UK (st pauls, BP, WAB) or FR (eiffel, louve) and their architectural works. These were finished competently and timely in their cities. This may give you some insight into local values, culture and work ethic in Barcelona.
